Suicide Silence ~ The Cleansing

I have been listening to this album for over a week now. I even listen to it in bed before I sleep. The reason for this is very simple. It’s brilliant. Where do I even begin to review this band? First of all they call this genre Deathcore. I however see things differently. Classification only leads to controversy and arguments. Music is meant to bring people together not push them further apart. I categorise it as good music.
The band! The current line up consists of
Mitch Lucker − Vocals
Chris Garza − Guitar
Mark Heylmun − Guitar
Mike Bodkins − Bass
Alex Lopez − Drums
Mitch does more than justice to his role, he blows the vocals apart. This band is all about sheer brutality and adrenaline. Everytime I listen to this album, the blood goes pumping tenfold through my veins and I just want to run and scream. Do not get me wrong, this album doesn’t induce madness! Metal makes me stand up tall and for what I feel is right. Mitch screams, growls, and shrieks with a vengeance and is accompanied only too well with grinding guitars and heart slamming drums. The guitars are brutal, shredding and grinding each song with a fury that can only be compared to an earthquake measuring 10 on the good ol’ Richter scale.
My favourite songs in the album are
Hands of a killer
The price of beauty
No pity for a coward
The disease
Bludgeoned to Death

The album is a must have for any heavy metal fan. And if blastbeats are in your blood, get ready for an orgasmic journey through blastbeat heaven. I rate this album 9/10

METALLICA ~ Death Magnetic ~ A review

Well done you old bastards! Another album!
Another St. Anger? Thankfully and surprisingly not! I mean holy shit! They still have it in them! Now as you've read from the post below, my friend Sharan he doesn't think much of this album at all. But ignore him, he's a noob.
Now I have to admit, the first time I heard St. Anger I thought it pretty much sucked. It seemed like a garage band trying to sound heavy. I mean, come on, these guys made Master of Puppets, Ride the lightening, and Hit the lights! And then I turned on St. Anger and my expression was this -
ROFL it sounded like shit! I thought they'd run out of juice, 'gone are the days of Metallica' I said, but strangely enough, I gave the album another shot last night. Yes, last night...4th September 2008, and it clicked. Like a little screw falling into place, the album was alright, I even started moving my head to the music for a few songs!
Keeping this strange new development in mind, I gave Death Magnetic a shot...*EXPLOSION*
Damn, it's good. Some songs even remind me of their old albums. Though the guitars still sound different, in fact they sound like their previous album, the distortion sounds like something from a noob hardcore band. Sounds very amateur. Apart from that, kudos, the riffs are pretty Metallica. Hetfield's vocals are still killer, much better than St. Anger, he still sounds like Hetfield thankfully unlike the guitars.
Ulrich needs help. LOL if you take a look at the video St. Anger where they filmed at a penitentiary, you see two funny incidents. One is, you see these gigantic black dudes headbanging to the tune. Nuff sed there. LOL
Second is, half the time, Ulrich looks like he's shitting bricks trying to keep up with the fast tempo.
Still...this new album is pretty damn good, I've been a Metallica fan for as long as I can remember now, and I can safely say I still am. Good going chaps!
